Royal Liver Assurance was formed in 1850 to give financial peace of mind to people during tough economic times.

That was progressive back then and progress has been the backbone of Royal Liver ever since, driving our evolution in the UK and Republic of Ireland and helping us to develop a reputation for reliability, trustworthiness, competence and care.

As a Friendly Society, we exist solely for the benefit of our one million Members - we manage three million policies on their behalf.

In fact, it is the Members that own Royal Liver and with no shareholders, we can put more funds go back into the business, continually investing in improving the quality of our products and services.

Every Planholder automatically becomes a Member of Royal Liver; they can even get involved in running the business by becoming a Delegate and representing fellow Members at our Annual General Meeting or on various groups throughout the year. They even have the chance to become a member of our Board.

The Royal Liver Group has a number of different divisions with Progress and Caledonian Life providing protection products in the UK and Republic of Ireland respectively.
