Can't get clients on risk fast enough?

Let's talk tele-underwriting...

At Progress we only use experienced UK based tele-underwriters. They talk directly to the customer, to get accurate medical and non-medical information so that decisions can be made about the cost and level of cover, and any exclusions or refusals.

They're skilled at asking the questions which will provide the most reliable answers. This ensures the number of rejected claims for non-disclosure is kept to the absolute minimum.

All you have to do, where possible, is let us have a choice of telephone numbers and tell us the best times and days to speak to your client. We'll phone them at least three times and, only if we don't get through, will we email you a medical questionnaire instead.

If we do speak to your client, a decision should be emailed to you within 48 hours of the call.

Preparing your client for a tele-interview

So that your client knows what to expect from a tele-interview, you may wish to explain that the call will follow 4 main stages:

  • Security - the questions we need to ask for Data Protection
  • Underwriting - drilling down into the detail of the reason for the tele-underwriting interview to ascertain medical or occupational information
  • Disclosure - stressing the importance of letting us know everything and how this may impact claims
  • Helpline - If the customer thinks of anything else after the interview they will be asked to call us
